Thingvellir, Iceland*
*the water here is ground water and yet it is pure enough to drink due to it being filtered through lava. The star-looking objects are coins that people have thrown in for luck.
While in Iceland my friends and I stayed in a cabin. By the fourth day we had become snowed in and had virtually run out of food. We went on a walk to find provisions but found none. We did find this beautiful spot though!

During the winter months there is only around 4 or 5 hours of daylight in Iceland. This can be quite a shock when you wake up at 10 am and it’s pitch black outside. On the plus side however, you always get to see the sunrise and the sunset, and they are always beautiful.
